The SkillBridge program is a way for active-duty service members to gain civilian work experience during their last 180 days of service. Under the program, service members can participate in internships and apprenticeships with businesses, learning new skills that can be used in the civilian workforce. The program is sponsored by the Department of Defense, and participants continue to receive their military pay and benefits while participating. Eligibility for the program is open to all ranks and branches of the military, and applications are typically reviewed within 45 days.
