Peripheral devices are hardware components that connect to a computer or other digital device but do not contribute to its primary function. They are often divided into three categories: input devices, output devices, and storage devices. Examples of peripheral devices include keyboards, mice, webcams, microphones, monitors, speakers, projectors, printers, USB flash drives, external hard drives, and data storage devices. These devices can be either internal or external, and they are controlled by the computer system but are not a part of it. Peripheral devices are essential for proper computer functioning and are used to transfer data, enter data, and display processed data. Non-peripheral devices are those that do not provide input or output, such as the hard disk, which is used for data storage.
