I’m sure we’ve all been in a situation where we completely forgot that our streak broke or it had a timer. In many cases, streaks break because you probably forgot that you’ve sent it and it’s the worst feeling, especially when you’re close to 100 or it’s with your favorite person.

I’m pretty sure everyone reading this article knows what a Snapchat streak is, however in severe cases that you don’t know let me take you through it. Firstly girl you’re living under a rock! Secondly, a Snapstreak starts when you and your friend start sending each other random snaps. In my case, I send my friends random ugly snaps or on the rare occasions that I get ready I take their approval through snaps and that starts a snap streak. It starts when both you and your friend are sending each other snaps for 3 consecutive days at least once in 24 hours!

I’m usually bombarding my friends with snaps every hour but that depends on you! You lose your snap streak when you don’t send a snap in 24 hours and you’ll get a timer to remind you that it’s the time! You’ll see a fire emoji next to the name of your friend once your streak starts. When you keep on sending snaps to each other a certain number appears next to the fire emoji. That’s basically the number of days that you’ve had a streak. So if it says 20 you’ve been sending each other snaps for 20 days!

In several cases, a snap streak is also lost when there are app glitches, server outages, wifi problems, and even in many cases you probably aren’t getting a good wifi connection. No worries, I’ve got you! Let me take you through a step-by-step guide on how to restore your Snapchat streak and get that 100! A Step By Step Guide On Getting Your Streak Back

Step 1: Open your Snapchat application

The first step is very straightforward and I shouldn’t be telling you this but in the rare cases that people don’t know that they actually need to open the app, I’ve told you! Open your Snapchat application on your mobile and then tap on your bitmoji also known as the profile icon which is at the top left corner.

Once your profile opens click on the settings icon which is at the top right corner of your screen.

Step 2: Scroll down to find the ‘Support’ section

Once you click on the settings a list of options will appear and simply scroll down until you find the section which says ‘Support’. Press ‘ I need help’ and you’ll be redirected to the Snapchat support page.

You need to press snap streaks and you’ll be able to view all information related to streaks. You’ll have six options that will appear right in front of you.

Step 3: Click on Snap Streaks in the Options

Once you’ve clicked on Snap Streaks you’ll be directed to another page. Look for the question ‘What if my snap streak has gone away but u know we’ve sent a snap ( not chat) back and forth within the 24-hour window? Now click on the ‘Let us know’ hyperlink which will appear.

Once you’ve done that you’ll have a Contact Us section which will appear on the next page. Simply select the option which says ‘ I lost my Snapstreak’ in the Snapchat support page!

Step 4 : Fill the Form

Now once you’ve selected that option you’ll be redirected to a form which you need to fill! This form will urge you to fill out your username ( please remember that) , email, phone number, the device you’re using ( not your mom’s phone), your friend’s username and other information.

Now you’ll fill in all the relevant information and then simply tap send to submit your request. Also you can only enter one username not five so please keep that in mind. If you’ve lost your streak with more than one person simply repeat the process and you can enter their username in the next form not in this one. Voila you’ve sent a request and your streak will be restored after 24 hours!

Now another thing worth mentioning is that whenever you see a timer it means you’ll have almost four hours to send or receive a snap. A snap could be in the form of a picture or video and I’m sure you’re all aware of that ! So in instances where you don’t send that snap you’ll naturally lose your streak with that friend. But don’t worry, just follow these simple steps and you’ll get your streak back in no time!
