Everybody is talking about Instagram right now. It’s the hottest social media channel, and hundreds of brands are becoming popular on this platform every day. Instagram has 1 billion monthly active users, which means if you want to stand out from the crowd, you need to come up with a unique strategy that will set you apart from all the other brands out there.

Unless you’re already an Instagram pro, getting started can be tough. However, it's never too late to join the party! Keep reading to find out tips on how to blow up on Instagram!

Consistency Is The Key

If you want to get the most out of your account, you should be posting multiple times per day.

It is generally recommended to post 3-7 times per week. When you consistently post high-quality content to your Instagram account, you’ll build credibility as an expert in your field. People will trust what you have to say, and they’ll be more likely to follow your account and engage with your posts in order to learn more about what you have to offer.

To help you get started, we recommend setting up a content planner such as Loomy or Trello to help you schedule your posts and stay on track.

Show a Human Side Behind the Instagram Account

Responding to comments on social media is a common way of showing a human side behind the online persona. This can include replying to questions, commenting on posts, and interacting in other ways.

It can show that you are approachable and interested in engaging with others. However, it can also come off as fake or insincere if you are just replying to everything your followers like or replying to every comment with a canned response. Be authentic and genuine when responding to posts or comments on Instagram.

The Importance of the Username, Bio and Profile Pic

The example of showcasing the brand in just few sentences

When someone visits your Instagram account for the first time, they will see your username, bio, and profile picture. So these three things are extremely important!

Your profile should have clear navigation, clear call-to-action buttons, and a clear account name. It should be clean and simple so that people can quickly identify what your business or brand is about.

You can only use 150 characters in your bio, so make sure you describe your brand or yourself as much as possible in a creative way! Also don’t forget to add links, try using Linktree to add multiple sources in just one link.

Use Meaningful Captions

Adding captions is a great way to add some personality to your photos.

One of the most important things to keep in mind when writing captions is that they should be relevant and engaging. If your caption isn't interesting or exciting enough, it will probably fall flat with your followers. Ideally, you want the captions to be short and to the point. And you want them to be intriguing enough so that people actually want to read them! You also want to keep in mind what kind of tone you're going for. Are you trying to write a funny caption? A serious one? Or somewhere in between?

You can try and google the captions for certain posts, but don't forget to leave yourself some room for creativity!

Have a Strong Hashtag Strategy

By using hashtags on your Instagram posts, you’re essentially creating a keyword-searchable visual index of all the things you’re talking about. It’s a great way to build an audience and drive engagement by making yourself easy to find. And it’s especially useful for building an audience from scratch or when you have a slow start.

The audience who is interested in your niche will most likely search for the related hashtags on Instagram. So do some hashtag research; search what kinds of hashtags people interested in your field are using and incorporate them in your captions, stories, and even bio. In addition to being searchable, hashtags are also highly visible on Instagram. So, when it comes to boosting your reach on Instagram, hashtags are essential.

Start Using Reels

Instagram Reels were first introduced in 2020.

Reels allow you to share bite-sized, entertaining content with your followers. You can use this feature to create short 3 to 15-second video clips to which you can apply filters and music.

Instagram users are able to post it on their feed, Reels tab, and stories. You can also access the reels of other accounts by clicking on the Reels icon in the navigation bar.

With an average attention span of roughly eight seconds, this type of video material is ideal for maintaining the attention of targeted consumers.

The addition of music and text makes it even more enjoyable, regardless of the information you are conveying. Reels, like any other Instagram feed post, are also pushed to the Explore page. If you generate enough engagement - comments, likes, shares - Instagram will push you to the Explore tab where followers and other users can potentially view your content

Analyse Insights

A great way to determine how well your Instagram page is doing is to analyse the metrics that are most important to you. These metrics can include the number of likes, comments, engagement, and demographics. In order to get the most out of your Instagram page, it’s important to know what kind of content works best.

One of the biggest things to consider is the target audience of your content. Are you appealing to an older demographic? Teenagers? Are videos working best for your Instagram page or pics? Once you know these types of metrics, you can start thinking about what kinds of content your followers would like to see more  on your page.

Use Instagram Stories Wisely

Did you know that half a billion people use Instagram stories every day? It is a wonderful opportunity to grab your audience's attention in a creative way!

You can use features such as polls and quizzes to entertain your audience and to grow your engagement. For example, you can share one of your posts and ask followers whether or not they like your outfit ( if you are a fashion blogger) or whether or not they found that certain post useful ( if you have a more educational page).

To take your stories to the next level, start using story templates that are available on multiple apps such as Unfold, Clay, Mojo.

Overall, there is certainly a lot of potential with this Instagram, but as with all social media channels, you need to be strategic. Being active is no longer enough; you’ve got to have a well-crafted strategy that will maximize your chances of gaining (and keeping!) popularity. The best strategy is to experiment with your content and see what works best for your audience.
